In Dreamcatcher's Riddle of the Sphinx, players take on the role of the closest friend of famed archeologist Sir Gil Blythe Geoffreys, a talented academician both at home and in the field. Geoffreys has uncovered what he believes to be an extremely important artifact - a parchment that could help translate and solve the ancient Mystery of the Sphinx.
When Geoffreys breaks the seal on his discovery to look upon it, he realizes that he has unleashed a terrible curse. Fearing for his life, he calls his most trusted friend (the player) to come help him. The player arrives to find that Geoffreys and the translating artifact have both disappeared. With little to go on beyond Geoffreys' original message, the player sets to work uncovering the mystery.
Riddle of the Sphinx is set in environments with a distinctively Egyptian look and feel. The game features a soundtrack which matches the mood of the game. Objects and environments are rendered in 3D and the player has full freedom of movement to explore the surroundings, find clues, and solve the mystery.
